Join us on 11/05/2024 as we explore the vast and complex history of LGBTQ+ life in London, with stories of iconic people and places who have shaped the city and community through the centuries with our Queer History Walk.
The tour is a fundraising event to raise money for LGBT HERO's vital work for LGBTQ+ people, including mental health, wellbeing, sexual health and peer support.
Weaving through the streets of London’s West End, you’ll learn about pioneering drag queens from the 1700s, secret gay soirées of the 1920s, and the infamous development of Soho, one of the world’s best loved queer neighbourhoods.
Today the LGBTQ+ community’s presence can be seen across every borough and street in London. Though many inequalities still exist, we take pride in a community which has been through so much, from repression and persecution to violence and discrimination, yet continues to strive towards bringing equality and inclusivity to all.
The tour is led by performer, curator and tour guide, Mark T Cox.
