Queer Men's Walk

Saturday, May 27, 2023 Queen's Park Queen's Park Glasgow G42 9QL

Come along and have a chat while we walk round Queen’s Park. We’ll meet at Glad Café on Pollokshaws Road, and have a leisurely walk through the park together.

Going forward it is hoped we can build a Queer Men’s Group in Glasgow, so on this walk we’ll also be asking you what this might look like!

Walking for Community

This will be one of three walking events in Glasgow this Spring. On Sunday 30th April we will be taking part in the Glasgow Kilt Walk to raise money and visibility for the charity. You can take part with us and LGBT Health will pay to register you – keep an eye on our website for more details.

Who we welcome

We welcome all queer men(16+)from all identities in the LGBTQIA+ community including gay, bisexual, pansexual, asexual , etc. This includes men who are questioning or exploring their sexual orientation.

All our men-centred events are inclusive of transgender men, and we welcome nonbinary and gender non-conforming folks who are comfortable in joining a men-centred space.

Dog friendly

Queen’s Park is well-used by dog walkers, so we’d be happy to welcome along your pooch on the day. If you are not comfortable with dogs, please let us know and we can look at splitting the group to manage comfort levels.

Registration

Spaces are limited to 50 people so we need you to register in advance.

Bookings are for 1 person. Even if you and a friend or partner share an email address, you must make one booking per person.

If something changes and you can no longer attend the meetup, please let us know as soon as you can so your booking becomes available for someone else.

The location

The walk will take place at Queen's Park

M ore information about the meeting location after registration

A ccess

Queen’s Park itself is largely accessible. According to a review on Euan’s Guide, the main paths are wheelchair and walker accessible, well-surfaced and wide.

There are some steep hills that may not be possible to climb in certain chairs but there are also lots of flat areas with good paths.

If there is anything more you need to talk to us in advance to help you access the event, please contact Eve at eve@lgbthealth.org.uk or 07599 276 189
