Losing My Religion

Thursday, August 21, 2025 London LGBTQ+ Community Centre 60-62 Hopton Street, Thames Path, Bankside Thames Path, Bankside London SE1 9JH Losing My Religion

Losing My Religion offers a safe, peer-led space where LGBTQ+ people who have stepped away from religious communities can gather and share experiences.

Whether you have deconstructed your faith, been expelled, or simply feel disconnected from your religious upbringing, this group welcomes you to explore what life outside that context feels like—without judgment or pressure.

Facilitator Ade (he/him), drawing on his own journey from a deeply religious background, hosts these conversations with sensitivity and understanding. The sessions emphasize listening, mutual respect, and community building rather than therapy or criticism of religion.

The venue is accessible and offers a calm, welcoming space. Masks and hand sanitiser are provided, and participants are invited to wear masks if they prefer. Those experiencing symptoms of illness are encouraged to stay at home for everyone’s safety.

This gathering is non-denominational and open to all LGBTQ+ people affected by religious disconnection, regardless of the faith tradition involved. It's a place for reflection, support, and reconnection with queer community after leaving religion.
