Holding place: Workshop with The LGBTQ+ Blanket Project
Thursday, January 18, 2024
Swansea College Of Art, UWTSD - Thursday, January 18, 2024 · 5:30 - 8pm
Join artist Vivian Ross-Smith (she/her) and Helly (they/them) from The LGBTQ+ Blanket Project for a relaxed workshop exploring care, comfort, and communal making.
Together we will knit and crochet squares to create a shared blanket, which will be donated to The LGBTQ+ Blanket Project.
Everyone is welcome! You do not need any skills to participate, we are happy to teach you, and we encourage those who can knit and crochet to share their skills with a workshop neighbour.
Some materials will be available for use during the workshop. If you have spare knitting needles, crochet hooks or yarn, we would greatly appreciate if you bring them along for others to use during the session. The LGBTQ+ Blanket Project is also accepting yarn donations during the workshop.
"There's something inherently queer about heritage crafts"
