This training will focus on increasing therapist competence and skill when working with gender diverse youth and their families.
Specifically, training will focus on developmental considerations with working with children and adolescents, ways to utilize peer reviewed and empirical data to support treatment goals, and applied clinical techniques to increase gender affirmation within family systems. Participants will have a chance to practice new skills during an applied case study.
While there are no formal pre-requisites for this training, it is designed for those with an intermediate level of knowledge regarding gender diversity. It is also designed for any masters level clinician and/or allied health providers.
Learning Objectives:
1 .Participants will explore and be able to apply at least one new understanding of developmental considerations when working with gender diverse youth and their families.
2 .Participants will understand at least one new way to utilize peer reviewed research and empirical data to increase gender affirmation within family system.
3.Participants will be able to apply at least one new therapeutic technique in order to increase affirmation within family systems.
4.Participants will practice new skills in an extended case study.
Harvey Feldman (he/him) LCMHC is a licensed therapist in the state of New Hampshire (#2128). He holds a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Goddard College (Plainfield, Vermont) with a focus on clinical issues of gender and sexuality, as well as a Master’s degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree from Smith College. He is a founding member of The Gender Diverse Care Coalition of New Hampshire, as well as a member of Dartmouth Health’s Transgender Program Community Advisory Board.

Affirmation Matters: Clinical Work with Gender Diverse Youth and Their Families: has been approved by NBCC for 4.75 NBCC credit hours. Harvey Feldman Counseling LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. NBCC Approval No. SP-4114.
CE certificates will be mailed following completion of six hour training on either February 10th or April 14th.
Refunds and Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests made more than a week prior to the event will be given a full refund of registration fees. Refunds will not be granted for cancellation requests made within a week of the selected date (February 3rd or April 7th) or for no-shows.
