Senior Research Fellow in Sustainability Policy

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity in the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures. We are looking for someone with a passion for sustainability looking to use their skills in sustainability policy to make an impact on sustainability research.

The successful applicant will join our interdisciplinary team. Your standing and approaches will further strengthen our strong international research profile and our reputation for novel research in sustainability.

Educated with a PhD degree or equivalent research experience in a relevant area you will develop and communicate a systemic policy approach to meeting the needs of a growing and urbanising population, faced with complex challenges of climate change.

You will evaluate policy proposals, synthesise evidence and advise on issues such as the costs and benefits, risks and potential implications of different policy options. You will also assess the impact of policy decisions and communicate changes to the wider community.

Your role will be to carry out research, undertake consultations, and gather and analyse data in order to influence decision-makers in government, think tanks and businesses.

The Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures brings collaborators together across academic fields, business and policy to create knowledge that will deliver global health, prosperity and wellbeing within planetary boundaries.

The centre runs a programme of systemic and interdisciplinary research on intractable problems. The centre also strives to give both academic researchers and PhD students the skills and opportunities to engage with public and policy debates about sustainability issues.
