Research Associate

Job Description

You will join the School of Allied Health Professionals, Nursing and Midwifery, working as a Research Associate on the research project: ‘Breaking the Care Cycle: Parenting after leaving care’. You will join Dr Ellis and a Project Steering Group to explore the perspectives of parent care leavers and to develop alternative narratives around leaving care.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the project and will be supported to develop appropriate research methods to gather qualitative data around care experienced parenting. Along with the Principal Investigator, you will recruit participants and conduct qualitative interviews with care experienced parents. You will be supported to analyse and thematically code data and to produce outputs suitable for policy, practice and academic audiences.
You will be responsible for designing and populating the project website as well as managing an online survey to gather statistics to generate further understanding around care experienced parenting. To apply, candidates should hold a PhD or be close to completion in a relevant Social Science discipline with experience of undertaking qualitative research to the highest standard.
