Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Chair of international renown to provide academic leadership in Sustainable Materials.

For the Chair in Sustainable Materials, we are seeking a senior colleague who has a clear vision for their research, who is establishing or has established a strong international reputation in their field and who can join the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Sheffield in a leadership role. The chair will establish a world leading research programme in Sustainable Materials, current interests of the department lie in the areas of materials circularity, sustainable energy materials and materials informatics. However, while applications in these areas are welcomed, the search is intended to identify the candidate best able to support and develop the interests and capabilities of the Department, Faculty and University, widely interpreted. When appointed the successful candidate will have access to world-class facilities available to the University though the Henry Royce Institute and housed in the Harry Brearley Building.
